This book fills a gap in English books on urology. For a number of years the German and French monographs devoted to cystoscopy have been generally employed in England and the United States. Such a valuable addition to diagnostic resources is welcome. A large number of illustrations in color are the work of the master hand of Thornton Shiells. Many instructive diagrams also help to explain the more technical side of the subject. There are few unfavorable criticisms to be made. One of these is that a book which will probably have a large circle of readers in the United States should devote more space to the construction and mode of application of the type of cystoscopes that are almost exclusively employed here.
