Abstract

This book, which is written in English with a summary in Danish, consists of an introduction, a historical survey of sulfapyridine and five chapters dealing with the action of sulfapyridine on pneumococci in vitro, the effect of sulfapyridine on experimental pneumococcic infections, studies on the resistance of pneumococci to sulfapyridine, combined sulfapyridine treatment and active or passive immunization, and the effect of sulfapyridine on gonococci. Each chapter consists of two parts, the first being a brief review of previous investigations, the second the author's investigations. In view of the general knowledge of the sulfonamides, this book would probably be of interest only to experimental workers.
