Abstract

The first edition of this book appeared in this country in 1924 under the imprint of the J. B. Lippincott Company. This is the first reprint of the second edition, which came out in 1929. The first edition had 774 pages and 443 illustrations. It sold in this country for $8.50. The present edition sells in this country for $14 and in the United Kingdom for 35 shillings. This great difference in prices is of course due in part to our new duty on imported books. That the price of the second edition has been set at $14 is regrettable because it undoubtedly will limit the sale in this country of a good textbook of pathology, written primarily for students of medicine by an experienced and successful teacher of pathology.
