In Reply To be effective, FIT for colorectal cancer screening requires follow-up colonoscopy in patients with positive results. We did not advocate for delays in colonoscopy in our Editorial. We agree with Dr Doubeni and colleagues that colonoscopy should occur as soon as possible after a positive screening result. The intent of our Editorial was to explore potential biases that could result in overestimation of the rates of adverse outcomes due to delays in follow-up colonoscopy.
