COUNCIL ON MEDICAL SERVICE AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
THE PURPOSES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE COUNCIL
The Council has authorized the publication of the following statement. J. W. Holloway Jr., Acting Secretary. The Council was authorized by the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association at its annual session in Chicago in June 1943. The members of the Council were immediately appointed by the Board of Trustees. Section 4 of chapter IX of the By-Laws provides that the duties of the Council shall be as follows:"(1)To make available facts, data and medical opinions with respect to timely and adequate rendition of medical care to the American people;"(2) to inform the constituent associations and component societies of proposed changes affecting medical care in the nation;"(3) to inform constituent associations and component societies regarding the activities of the Council:
