Professor Kruse has prepared an anthropologic and ethnologic study of the people of Germany and of the surrounding countries. The work is not at all technical and may be read by any one with a fair reading knowledge of German. Unfortunately, it has not the objectivity that should characterize a scientific work, and in its later chapters particularly shows a type of chauvinism that well-nigh ruins its value as a scientific contribution.
