A smartphone-based platform can help scientists recruit pregnant women to participate in biomedical research, according to a recently published feasibility study funded in part by the National Institutes of Health, National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
Because of concerns about harm to the fetus, pregnant women have long been underrepresented in research studies, resulting in a lack of evidence to guide treating them for acute and chronic conditions.
