Wilgefortis, Uncumber, Kümmernis, Débarras.
Might not this crucified, bearded girl of such legends
have been a guevedoces, one who transforms from girl to man,
seemingly supernaturally, until the advent
of genetics revealed not the power of prayer,
but a mutation of the 5α-reductase gene.
Is the miraculous lost when subjected to diagnosis?
Does not nature seem at times supernatural?
