The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), recently announced a new payment model that would expand emergency ambulance services for Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries.
The goal is to reduce expenditures and preserve or enhance the quality of care by providing the right care at the right time to beneficiaries, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
