Colorectal cancer is the fourth most diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. The majority of CRC is thought to arise from precancerous lesions called adenomas through the adenoma-carcinoma pathway.1 Screening for and removing colon adenomas in asymptomatic individuals can reduce CRC incidence and mortality. Therefore, routine CRC screening is recommended for the general population.
