To the Editor Dr Dameff and colleagues1 discussed the promise of personal health records during the smartphone era. However, one challenge is the increasing amount of data per human and the data storage required globally because it is estimated that each of the big 4 data companies (ie, Facebook, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft) use an estimated 1200 petabytes, or 1.2 million terabytes, among them.2
