Update on Biotin Interference With Troponin Tests

The FDA recently updated its 2017 safety communication warning that biotin—a common dietary supplement also known as vitamin B7—can seriously interfere with certain lab tests. The update was prompted by continued reports of adverse events linked with incorrect lab results stemming from biotin interference.
