In Reply As we stated in our article on waste in the US health care system, our review was necessarily broad.1 We believe our results are conservative and imprecise, limited by existing published data. Our goal was to assess sources of waste broadly, using previously defined categories, and to update perceived areas of opportunity and directions for future improvement.
