In Reply We agree with Mr Zwanenburg and colleagues that the duration of application of the incisional negative pressure wound therapy dressing after surgery is an important variable. Based on their meta-analysis,1 they suggest that “it is essential to provide incisional negative pressure wound therapy for a sufficient amount of time for the therapy to be effective (eg, for 7 days).”
