There are a number of textbooks on operative surgery of the ear, chiefly in the German language, which, although good, have always left something to be desired, particularly as concerns details and illustrations of the various operative procedures. In clarity and authority of statement, this small book, averaging more than one illustration to the page, has yet to be surpassed. The absence of a similar work in English is regrettable.
