To the Editor Although Dr Greer and colleagues’ comprehensive review on the determination of BD/DNC1 provided guidance for protocol development worldwide, we would like to address some considerations regarding ancillary testing in BD/DNC diagnosis.
First, the process of intracranial hypertension producing complete intracranial circulatory arrest is variable among patients because of their individual and pathological characteristics.2 Therefore, the sensitivity of brain blood flow tests in BD/DNC is more dependent on the timing of when they are performed rather than the techniques per se.3
