Business executive, university trustee, former university administrator, and faculty member—Pake1 brings broad perspective to his examination of our universities’ present plight. As he views the campus scene, the faculty holds the seat of power, philosophically because faculty membership denotes expertise but practically because of tenure. The man with tenure is immune; he holds his position and draws his salary until he reaches mandatory retirement age.
