The pulmonary diseases of paprika cutters exhibit a peculiar form previously unknown pathologically. The first case of a paprika cutter having a lung disease was observed for a period of six years without information being obtained that would lead to the discovery of the real cause or causes of the phenomena. The need for a comprehensive study led the author to a thorough investigation of the various factors involved in the disease. He has collected all available information on the known cases and investigated the accompanying circumstances. The relationship is shown among the various pathologic conditions. The dissertation starts with a discussion of the varieties of mold growing in paprika and the causes of illness of paprika cutters. The author believes that the disease is due to the development of a mold fungus accompanied by numerous spores. This is based on the finding of fungous infection in the lung. These
