First—Meeting—Monday Morning, June 13
The House of Delegates convened in the Empire Room of the Hotel Sir Francis Drake and was called to order at 10 a. m. by the Speaker, Dr. N. B. Van Etten.
Preliminary Report of the Reference Committee on Credentials
A preliminary report of the Reference Committee on Credentials was submitted by the chairman, Dr. Deering G. Smith, New Hampshire, who reported that 131 delegates with proper credentials had registered but that the number would be greatly increased before the first session of the House adjourned.Dr. Smith announced that neither the delegate nor the alternate delegate from Rhode Island was in attendance but that Dr. Roland Hammond, who is the duly elected delegate from the Section on Orthopedic Surgery, had been appointed an alternate delegate from the Rhode Island Medical Society and wished to represent the Rhode Island Medical Society, which would permit the alternate delegate of the Section on Orthopedic Surgery to represent that section. On motion of Dr. Smith, seconded by Dr. A. T. McCormack, Kentucky, and carried, Dr. Roland Hammond was seated as a delegate from the Rhode Island Medical Society.
