This new accumulation of detective stories continues the quality set by the author in previous volumes. Mr. Fortune is a medical detective with a great deal of common sense and sound philosophy. Most volumes of mystery and detection are written by writers with a flair for plot but without much literary skill. Mr. Bailey reveals not only everything desirable in the way of plot but a literateness that makes him worth while even for the most intelligent reader.
