I have read the book by Dr. D. W. Orr and Mrs. Orr entitled "Health Insurance with Medical Care: the British Experience." I have read also your review of that book in The Journal of December 10 last. Any author submitting his work for review must be prepared to accept the consequences provided that criticisms are honest and well informed. I have no brief for these authors. I have never met them. But as their book appears to me to be the truest "evaluation of the medical service given under health insurance" in Great Britain (to use your own description of what should be the aim of a work of this kind) that has been written for American readers, and as your review appears to me to be widely
