The speech organs and speech production are reviewed. Psychological factors contributing to the production of stuttering and the theories explaining this phenomenon are presented. The greater portion of the book describes methods of evaluating and treating the person who stutters and includes consideration of the patient's family and other environmental factors. The book is written by an educator and should be of value to teachers of speech correction. It is not a source of medical information for purposes of differential diagnosis and psychiatric care.
