This is the sixth volume of the series that has been published and it deals with the eye and general disease, ocular therapy and ocular hygiene. The relationship of disease conditions of the eye and systemic disease is handled in chapters on diseases of metabolism by Lichtwitz of Berlin; diseases of the heart, vascular system and blood, by Kümmell of Hamburg; tuberculosis and syphilis by Igersheimer of Frankfort; infectious diseases, by Zade of Heidelberg; intoxications, by Sattler of Königsberg; diseases of the skin, by Lutz of Basel; exophthalmic goiter, by Zondek of Berlin; immunity and the eye, by Dold of Kiel and Schieck of Würzburg, and eye diseases of the tropics, by Bakker of Hilversum.
