This is an attempt to secure for the East India physician information on some of the "2,000 more important specialties that are daily being prescribed by the doctors, and that are prepared by well known manufacturers of the world." No secret remedies are given a place in the book unless the makers gave at least the most important ingredients. The book has not, of course, the value or authoritativeness of New and Nonofficial Remedies, as critical discussion is entirely lacking.
