This monograph is distinguished by its brevity. It is well organized, with comprehensive coverage of all aspects of diagnosis and treatment. Special attention is drawn to the chapter on diagnostic procedures. The few shortcomings in the chapters dealing with etiology and pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and dissecting aneurysm do not depreciate the value of this monograph, which has as its primary object the general discussion of diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of the aorta. This book will prove instructive to every physician interested in cardiovascular diseases.
