Abstract

ALABAMA 

Personal.—  The new director of the state health department's division of tuberculosis control is Dr. James M. Freeze, U. S. Public Health Service, who succeeds Dr. N. H. DeJanney, Alabama City, resigned. Dr. Freeze comes from Bethesda, Md., where he has been doing graduate work in the U. S. Public Health Service office.

Dr. Foley Named Professor of Anatomy.—  Dr. James O. Foley has been appointed chairman and professor of anatomy at the Medical College of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Foley, formerly of Tulane University of Louisiana School of Medicine, New Orleans, joined the faculty of the medical college in 1945 when the Alabama School of Basic Medical Science was made part of the four year medical college of Alabama. Dr. Foley received his B.S. degree from Oregon State College and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. His research has dealt chiefly with the anatomy of the nervous system.
