Personal.—  Dr. James J. Short, for many years associated with the New York Post-Graduate Medical School and Hospital, Columbia University, New York, is now on the faculty of the College of Medical Evangelists, Loma Linda-Los Angeles, as associate professor of medicine.—Dr. Leo Eloesser, San Francisco, for two years in charge of the medical teaching program for China under UNRRA, discussed his experiences in China before the Institute of Pacific Relations and the California League of Women Voters March 4.—Dr. C. S. Ambrose, Visalia, has been appointed health officer of Tulare County to succeed Dr. Charles C. Hedges.—Dr. Donald L. Meamber, recently returned from service in the Pacific theater with the Navy, has been appointed health officer of the city of Yreka.—Dr. Jacob M. Furstman, for twenty-four years chief administrative head of the Monrovia Health District, Monrovia, became health director of the Santa Monica
