During the ensuing twelve months the names of 5,389 new members were added, so that on April 1, 1947 the number of members was 132,224, the largest ever recorded. It is interesting to note in this centennial year of the Association's existence that the "Catalogue of Permanent Members" recorded in 1847 contained the names of 426 physicians!
The Fellowship roster on April 1, 1947 contained 72,888 names, as compared with 68,366 on the corresponding date in the preceding year. The reduction which occurred during the war years has been largely restored. From April 1, 1946 to
