This is a popular presentation for those who are none too sure of their own mental capacities. The desire of Americans to become more efficient in their mental lives has resulted in a plethora of books designed to aid them in developing their efficiency and their ability to meet people, to make a favorable impression and to live more wholesome lives and in every conceivable way to make them "successful" citizens. Since, after all, the root of most maladjustment is in childhood and the way the individuals are trained, as well as in their later economic opportunities, clinic help can seldom be supplanted by a book unless it is miraculously therapeutic; and there is nothing about the present volume that makes it worthy of note except that it is highly readable.
