Course in Applications of Nuclear Physics.—
A course in the applications of nuclear physics to the biologic and medical sciences will be given at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco, June 30-July 18. The general subjects for the three weeks will be (1) an introduction to nuclear physics, (2) radioactive tracers in biology and medicine, (3) radioactive tracers, therapeutic and diagnostic applications of radio elements and health-physics. The instructors will be members of the various faculties of the University of California under the general direction of Dr. Stacy R. Mettier, associate professor of medicine, and under the general chairmanship of Dr. William J. Kerr, professor of medicine. The morning lecture periods will cover various phases of the subjects mentioned; in addition, special lectures and evening seminars will be given. The afternoons will be given over largely to laboratory work. Requests for registration should be addressed to Dr. Mettier, University of California Medical Center, San Francisco 22.
