The first edition was one of the most comprehensive and authoritative textbooks on clinical hematology and the second edition justly maintains that distinction. The new edition includes practically every significant advance in hematology since the first edition was printed, as well as the addition of new illustrations and diagrams that add to the clarity of the text. Current material on folic acid, the Rh factor, nitrogen mustards, radioactive phosphorus, mineral and porphyrin metabolism, factors concerned with erythropoiesis and erythrocyte destruction, thiouracil and the newer hemostatic agents are some of the additions.
