The author planned to present a rapid orientation in allergy for the practicing physician and student. This brief résumé considers the general and special principles of allergic diseases. The completeness of coverage is truly remarkable, although at times this results in regrettably laconic treatment of important fields. Each chapter has alphabetically arranged, well chosen and up-to-date references. The author has displayed sound critical judgment in the evaluation of fads and improved methods. This book can be recommended for those who wish to obtain an authoritative introduction to the principles of allergy.
