Abstract

To the Editor:—  May I take this opportunity to enlist your help in promoting one of the objectives of the Dysentery Registry, namely, the appointment of an epidemiologist to the staffs of hospitals. Each year at this time we initiate our regular "Prevent Dysentery" program, and for 1950 we are stressing the importance of the hospital epidemiologist. As you know, intramural outbreaks of various types frequently occur in our hospitals but are poorly managed or are inadequately studied.
