This is a revision of an earlier edition that has become one of the widely used volumes on health education in schools. Some of the chapters have been largely rewritten, others have been less extensively but appropriately revised, and the inclusive lists of resources and references have been brought up-to-date. In the first part of the book, after a discussion of the place of health in education, the basic health problems that the schools face are described. Part 2 is concerned with the health curriculum and teaching, including material on the aims and patterns of motivation, course organization, teacher preparation and resources, and evaluation of instruction. Part 3 deals with health service activities, environmental control, and administrative and personnel relationships in the school and community. As this summarization indicates, the book provides broad coverage of the various aspects of the school health program. The word education in the title gives
