The author's qualifications are excellent. He enjoys the confidence and approval of members of the International Society of Rheumatic Diseases collectively and individually. He is well grounded in this subject, and his book reflects this training and experience. He feels that few practitioners have had the opportunity of studying the morbid anatomy of the joints and the spine either in autopsies or in the laboratory. Much of their knowledge of pathologic processes involved is founded on their experience in radiology. The purpose of this book is to supply illustrations of anatomic dissections and microscopic preparations. Few radiographs have been used. This book is written for pathologists, orthopedists, rheumatologists and radiologists. It presents a connected story in which several diseases of joints and spine are related and compared with one another and integrated within the framework of general pathology.
