This useful monograph on spleen puncture gives the results of the author's study of 180 specimens. There is a detailed section on technic and methods of examination of material followed by a section on the cell forms found in the specimens. Part ii analyzes the findings in specific diseases. The value of simultaneous study and evaluation of sternal puncture material with that obtained from the spleen is emphasized. Splenic puncture is considered safe when strict precautions are observed. The method is valuable in the diagnosis of disease and in the study of the effects of roentgenotherapy or arsenic medication. The book is beautifully printed, is illustrated with many excellent photographs and colored illustrations of the cells and sections, and is quite a valuable contribution to the subject.
