Dec. 12 and 13, 1947
The Council on Physical Medicine held its regular annual meeting on Dec. 12 and 13, 1947. Those present were Drs. Morris A. Bowie, Anthony C. Cipollaro, W. W. Coblentz, John S. Coulter, W. E. Garrey, W. E. Grove, Frank II. Krusen, Frank R. Ober, George Morris Piersol and Derrick Vail. Dr. John S. Coulter was reappointed chairman and Dr. Frank H. Krusen, vice chairman. Dr. Krusen was acting chairman.Dr. George M. Piersol presented a report from the Consultants on Clinical Thermometry. Two articles are being written on the subject. He stated that the commonly accepted idea about normal clinical temperatures is far from accurate and a report will be available in due time.The subject of ion transfer employed therapeutically was discussed. The critical evidence is limited, and in the opinion of the Council the problem should be studied further.With regard to muscle
