The fact that this book is in the sixth edition is an indication of the reception of earlier issues. It is not suited to medical students and graduates because of its brevity; however, it is informative for nurses. Those who lecture to nurses should find the book one for recommendation. In addition, there are a number of excellent pictures that should arouse the interest of even the practitioner, although these are not as complete as one would find in books designed for physicians. The volume is attractively prepared and easy to read, and, for the purpose for which it is intended, the index is adequate.
