This book is a completely rewritten and reset edition of the book published by the authors in 1934 under the title " The American Family." It has become one of the most important reference works in the field that it concerns and is at the same time a most useful textbook in courses in sociology. The authors adopt the point of view that frigidity in the female is due in most instances to poor sex technic of the husband. There is rather too much of simplicity in this and in other medical aspects of the book. The volume is supplemented with a comprehensive bibliography and index.
