The third edition with a new co-author is a complete revision of the text and illustrations, only two of the illustrations of the preceding edition having been retained. The clumsy size of the preceding edition has been replaced by a more conventional size. The book consists mainly of illustrations eith explanatory text and some supplementary textual material. Essentially it contains chapters on the fundamentals of electrocardiography, the arrhythmias and electrocardiographic contour. Chapters on phonocardiography and cardiac roentgenology are included. The authors' statement in the preface that this edition takes the specialist through the entire field of electrocardiography is not adequately fulfilled. The book is suited only for the medical student and the beginner in electrocardiography, and even for them it is only fair. The illustrations are for the most part typical.
