This book, originally written in Greek, has been translated into French. It consists of three parts: (1) morphology and physiology of the female body, (2) pathology of women, and (3) gynecologic surgery. The author is one of the leading obstetricians and gynecologists in Europe and there is evidence throughout the book of his ability as a teacher, investigator, practical obstetrician, and gynecologist. The section devoted to gynecologic operations is especially noteworthy. Several of the author's own gynecologic operations are described and illustrated. The book is written in simple, lucid language, and the illustrations are clear and instructive. Because of this and because the book contains an enormous amount of useful information about both medical and surgical gynecology, it should be popular among all gynecologists who can read French.
