This manual has gradually evolved from a small pamphlet into a useful work for those who wish to prepare a scientific paper. Added is a section on the use of the scientific library for research purposes. The recommendations follow, as no doubt they should, the principles of the Williams & Wilkins Company. The editorial staff of the American Medical Association is a little surprised that there is no reference whatever to the book called "Medical Writing," which covers somewhat the same ground with specific reference to medical contributions.
