The excerpt from Sir Lionel Whitby on page 125 of The Journal for September 11, dealing with the new problems that immediately arise following such scientific discoveries as penicillin, streptomycin and the sulfonamide drugs, is excellent.An appropriate postscript might be the following well known quotation from Walt Whitman:
"Now understand me well—
It is provided in the essence of things, that from any fruition of success, no matter what, shall come forth something to make a greater struggle necessary."
