Hill-Burton Funds for Nursing Home.—
A 53-bed nursing home addition to the Pinal General Hospital at Florence has been approved as the first project to be constructed under the provisions of the Medical Facilities Survey and Construction Act of 1954 (P. L. 482, 84th Congress). The home will be used for nursing and medical care of the aged. Estimated construction cost is $240,000, of which the federal government will contribute half and Pinal County the other half.
Present Scholarships to Medical Schools.—
At the 60th annual convention of the National Medical Association in Los Angeles, Dr. Walter W. Davis, chairman, scholarship committee, Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association of Southern California, presented checks in the sum of $500 each for scholarships (unrestricted) to the deans of the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine, the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, and the College
