Written for children between the ages of 8 and 12, this book presents in dialogue form, with an adventure background, discussions of the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, nervous and reproductive systems and the skeleton. It is profusely illustrated with drawings ranging from full page to marginal in size, and the writing style is well adjusted to the age level for which the book has been prepared. Technical terms are spelled phonetically in many instances, and at the end of the first chapter is a list of special words that should be remembered. Other chapters are followed by brief quizzes or "true-or-false" tests. This is a helpful book that parents can give to their children with the prospect that it will be of considerable assistance. The chapter on reproduction is especially well handled.
