This textbook presents as comprehensive a review of the literature on the medical use of ultraviolet light as is possible in 151 pages. However, the review of the literature is, unfortunately, not so critical as might be desired. The description of the application of ultraviolet light consists of material long known, especially to dermatologists. Much other material is included from the past regarding the application of ultraviolet light, on a rather empirical basis, in conditions that for many years have been much more effectively treated by other means and in conditions for which it is of no specific value.
