Brig. Gen. M. S. White, M. C., U. S. Air Force, has been named director of medical staffing and education for the Air Force Medical Service and has assumed his duties in the Office of the Surgeon General. General White is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Board of Preventive Medicine.
Capt. David W. Lyon Jr., M. C., U. S. Navy, was placed on the retired list of officers on Sept. 1, after having completed more than 31 years' active service.In addition to the Bronze Star, he wears the World War I Victory medal with three combat clasps, American Defense Service medal with Sea Duty Star, American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area medal with two engagement stars, and the World War II Victory and the China Occupation medal. Captain and Mrs. Lyon plan to settle in California in the San Francisco Bay
