• Impairments of hearing and disturbances of equilibrium can prevent normal performance of the automobile driver. Applicants for licensure who have an obvious hearing handicap or who give a history of vertigo should be examined by a physician in order to determine the extent of the disorder and to decide whether they are competent to drive.
