• There is a need for better ways of determining and maintaining the fitness of people to drive automobiles. The medical profession should press for application of the facts of medicine and engineering to methods of crash-proofing motor vehicles. The medical care available in emergencies must be improved. Attention should be directed not only to the prevention of fatal accidents but also to the rehabilitation of the many people who are seriously injured.
