New Wing to Research Building Dedicated.—  A new wing to the Naval Medical Research Building, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., was dedicated on March 1, in ceremonies attended by naval officers, civilian medical educators, enlisted personnel, and their ladies. Rear Adm. Thomas F. Cooper, commanding officer, National Naval Medical Center, made the opening comments. The new threestory structure is an extension of the existing Medical Research Institute main building.Dr. Howard T. Karsner, medical research advisor to the surgeon general of the Navy, the principal speaker at the ceremonies, outlined some of the past and current research projects of the institute. He said, "This new expansion of the physical plant of the Institute will provide much needed additional space, equipment and facilities so that research can continue in an increasingly favorable environment and the Navy can look forward to productive research of the highest order."
